The Course

The Gryphon Gromduro Course follows the most iconic mountain bike route in Redding, down the “Chimney” and “Ice Box”. Old mining and logging roads rediscovered by mountain bikers in the early days of the sport, these trails offer a great mix of perfect flow, and rowdy old school flavor.

The complete route is 9.5 miles with 1750 feet of climbing. Located in the Brandy Creek Drainage, the route offers shaded relief for large portions of climb and numerous creek crossings to cool off in.

Complete Route on Strava*

*Beginners will be given an opportunity to shuttle up the first portion of the climb, which eliminates 4 miles and 800 feet of climbing. Stage 3 is for the sport and expert racers only. It features rocky technical sections of trail.
