French Fry & Trail 58

When Brian Sindt from McConnell Foundation approached future board members of Redding Trail Alliance to help build the new portions of the French Fry Trail and finish Trail 58, we jumped at the chance!  The following two seasons were spent building and refining both trails.  The relationships and experience developed during these projects were not only invaluable to Redding Trail Alliance’s  vision for the future of Redding’s trail system, but also proved that our efforts as a group are helping make goals and aspirations each of us has had for years, possible.

We as a group and individually saw a need for progression in our trail system and the need for regular maintenance.  Redding has an abundance of trails and potential for further development.  It could easily be one of the nation’s top mountain bike destinations.  Redding area residents are fortunate enough to live where mountain biking year round is possible.  What Redding lacks that other destination locations boast is variety.

French Fry & Trail 58 introduced our community to a type of trail that develops bike handling skills and familiarity with berms, pumps, & flow.  These two trails really gave us an opportunity to give the community something different.  With the overwhelmingly positive feed back we new we were onto something!
